From childhood on I have been very fond of motorcycles.

My first machine was a Triumph Tiger Cub. I bought it in August 1955.

It was nothing but trouble. Primary and rear chains had to renewed constantly. When it had run about 2000 km, after break-in, a friend of me and myself vent on a journey. After about 20 kilometers the engine seized-up.  After cooling down the engine was free again, but now had a ticking sound, most likely from one of the main bearings.

After 15000 kilometers the engine was totally worn out and the motorcycle was traded-in for a:

BMW R 25/3. On that I rode about 80000 km. On a trip to the south of Germany it made about 30 km/liter on full throttle. Not bad in the fifties! It was also used for competition (Trials). Then it was possible to win the Club Mastership on a standard machine!!

It was later traded in for a Matchless Super Clubman 500 ccm. It was a very lovely machine, and is the motorcycle which has given me most joy to ride.
